How much more warnings do we need?

From the North Pole to Antarctica, mountains of evidences are pointing at two words: GLOBAL WARMING!

Yet, the Bush administration, not only has failed to take effective and serious actions to improve the situation, it has been siding with the environmental terrorists like Exxon Mobil and other oil/gas giants in their quest to boost profits. All done at the expense of the survival of this planet, one on which these greedy scumbags share with the rest of us.

Scientists have documented evidences of ice melting in Alaska with unprecedented deaths of polar bear drown while trying to find a floating Arctic ice floes after a long swim. Due to global warming, these life-saving floating ice floes are disappearing from the Arctic life, taking away the environment needed for the survival of many species in the region.

New viruses are popping up all over the world. Many of which have been linked to the severe climate change that subsequently upset the ecological structure that has been safeguarded by the stability of global climate patterns.

The US, under the leadership of the world’s most reckless and irresponsible dumbass named George W. Bush, has been the road block to the global efforts in protecting the environment. As disappointing as this may sound, it’s not a surprise. Bush has been consistently siding with mega-corporations like Exxon Mobil to rape this planet and to choke it to death. Dirty scumbags like Bush and his master Dick Cheney are like the fox that are guarding the hen house. These maniacs can only understand the value of money and nothing else. They have no moral standards, no ethics, no humanity, no integrity, and no God. Their “god” is the dollar sign. They worship and idolize wealth, power, and materialism. They stand for everything evil and indulge in darkness and filthy lifestyle. They are simply evil!

Today gasoline prices are pushing $3.20/gallon in many parts of the country. It looks like the oil cartels are doing their best to finish off the crippled economy. They risk the lives of young Americans to pursuit their evil agenda of taking over the oil wells in Iraq. The quagmire created by Bush and his gang will never be forgotten or forgiven. These criminals are going to join the fate faced by people like Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein: death with humiliation, shame, pain, and eternal disgrace.

With its global reach, Exxon Mobil has been polluting the planet in many countries around the world, where the watch dogs are corrupted, weak, crippled, disabled, retarded, or otherwise ineffective to domination of power cast on them by the evil corporate America.

In short, the evil bastards in the Bush administration are turning this planet into HELL.

The question is are we the people going to let them?

Another casualty of global warming?

Receding glacier in southern New Zealand.

According to BBC News today's report, mountain glaciers were shrinking three times faster then they were in 1980s. This doesn't surprise me. I've been to several 'melting' glaciers in Alaska and New Zealand and witnessed them first hand. It's very depressing to see the bare ground stands witness to the effects of global warming.

According to Wilfried Haeberli, of the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS), "the conditions we have today have never been seen in the past 10,000 years, and perhaps conditions which mankind has never experienced". It's not difficult to imagine the devastating effects brought by dramatic climate change. From food supplies to diseases that are caused by the upset of an ecological balance. Another alarming sign is the dying Great Barrier Reef, a largest living organism on this planet. And global warming is blame.

All this seems to have no effects on those who are directly and indirectly responsible for the global warming problems. I am referring to those greedy and evil companies like Exxon Mobil, Ford, General Motors. These environmental terrorists ban together to form cover organizations like the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) to downplay the urgent warning of climate changes by real scientists. AEI have been trying very hard to instill "doubts" and "skepticism" among folks with weak minds and lack of proper education. They've written numerous false scientific reports written by paid fake scientists to negate studies from real scientific communities. They are doing this because they are the prime contributors to global warming, and their profitable industries would take a huge setback due to the restriction on carbon dioxide emission, which is the main cause of global warming. They often claim the restriction of CO2 emission would "affect economic growth". This is all hogwash! Exxon Mobil has posted yet another record profit of $39.5 billions in 2006. Meanwhile, AEI, under heavy pressure and funding from Exxon Mobil, has made offers to each scientist $10,000 to oppose the study in preparation by the the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Indeed, the bottomless greed of oil executives has blinded them from seeing the reality, the reality that hundreds of millions of people could be killed by their reckless actions and abuses against the environment. These evil corporations can only see profits. And profit is all they care. Their shortsightedness combined with their wicked nature are deadly weapons used against mankind.

Unfortunately, we have a current administration that's so corrupt, it helps the exploitive and evil corporations take control of national treasures. As a result, thousands of acres of important and sensitive ecological sites on federal lands have been "turned over" to private controls at the expense of local economy, environmental safety (soil erosion and flood problems), and the survivability of wildlife. George W. Bush and his buddies in corporate America have no respect to the environment, the stability of the economy, and the survival of mankind. Apart of being incompetent, Bush's disconnection with reality and the life of ordinary Americans has caused a great deal of damage to everyone who cares about freedom, clean environment, and the survival of mankind.

Bush and his evil cronies like those at Halliburton, Exxon Mobil must be stopped from terrorizing the very planet we all share.

The fox is guarding the hen house

The Bush administration will perhaps be remembered as the single most destructive government in the US history. Bush installed key players like Gale Norton and Mark Rey in positions that would open the door wide open to timber industry to exploit vast national and world's treasures at the expense of the fragile environment, wildlife, and the survivability of intricate ecosystem.

Gale Norton was an agent of the industry that would stop at nothing to enrich the bank accounts of corporate executives. Mark Rey spends a good number of his corporate years lobbying for exploitation of natural resources on behalf of the timber industry, the petroleum industry, and the mining industry. With people like Norton and Rey guarding the nation's great natural resources is like have bin Ladin in charge of our national security.

Today we have Abigail Kimbell to guard our hundreds of millions of acres of precious forest land and the wildlife sustained in these forests. Kimbell has a poor record of protecting wildlife and a strong record of paving the road for the exploitive timber industry to get richer. In fact Kimbell was sued by the Alliance for the Wild Rockies and Native Ecosystems Council for her failure to protect the endangered species in national forests, causing adverse effects on biological habitats in the affected region.

Bush has proven to be a miserable failure at historical proportion. The true assessment of damages George W. has inflicted upon this nation can only be realized long after the moron leaves the White House or get impeached. The latter would be best for all who value freedom and justice.

Bush can only see and do what he's told or instructed by evil greedy corporate America, which would sell out America for the gain of wealth and power. The extremity of greed running so strongly in the bloodstream of the Bush gang has cost America, its people, and its natural resources at an unprecedented proportion.

This is what American people would expect from the unscrupulous, greedy, shallow, and pernicious Republicans.

No more national parks?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Scenes like this may only be found from an archive in the National Museum of Natural History, if land developers and oil companies get their ways. The House Resources Committee has drafted a legislation that could put an end to national parks, giving the private landowners, e.g. land developers and oil companies the "freedom" to destroy and exploit what once public lands every which way they wish.

Imagine your summer plan would include a trip to the bank to take a loan out for your national park visit. That may not be so far from reality if national parks are privatized.

Here's an excerpt of the proposed legislation:

Section 6303 requires the Park Service to solicit and sell commercial sponsorship of park visitor centers, education centers, information centers, museums, trails, auditoriums, amphitheaters, and theatres throughout the National Park System, collecting $10 million annually. If the Park Service fails to sell at least $10 million in sponsorships, all authority provided under the Park Service Concessions Management Improvement Act of 1998 would be in moratorium.

This seems to be consistent with the current adminstration's policy on enriching the rich at the expense of everyone else and the future of the nation.

The legislation would impact the state of Alaska the most. It's a red state and it's the same state that has been targeted by ExxonMobil and alike to juice out the oil beneath the home of many endangered wildlife and fragile living species.

Self-destruction?

It looks like humans are doing a good job of pushing themselves to extinction. With the deadly combination of ignorance, greed, and arrogance, the polluting industrialists, whose logics and rational thinking are blinded by their passion for money, are working hard to destroy the sustaining environment and everything that lives in it.

Scientists have warned "warmer, wetter weather brought on by global warming could increase outbreaks of the plague, which has killed millions down the ages and wiped out one third of Europe's population in the 14th century".

We've been hit with news on avian flu believed to be spread by migratory birds carrying deadly viruses that could cause a pandemic.

Yet, aggressive efforts to downplay the importance of global warming have been pursued by the polluting industry, organized to lobby the Bush administration to resist and deny the truth about global warming, as we've seen in the recent US reaction towards Kyoto protocol.

You're invited to read more on how climate change could kill us all.

The question is how much money is enough to satisfy the greed of those who insist on making more money on the dead bodies of their own children?

Taking the heat...

An encouraging news today from Australia: The Aussies are making progress in finding ways to generate electricity from hot rocks of the outback. These rocks' temperatures can be as high 570 deg. F! This provides plenty of energy for the coversion from steam power to electric power.

So how deep do we have to drill to reach to these hot rocks? 400 feet? 600 feet? Try more than 3 miles! That's how deep they'd have to get to for this source of "free" energy.

This energy source should not be confused with geothermal energy source used in many parts of the world. Geothermal electricity is generated from steam extracted from underground reservoirs and springs - not dry hot rocks. In the case for hot rocks, electricity is harnessed from the channeled super-heated steam generated from high-pressure water pumped down to the hot rocks.

The idea of mining heat from hot dry rocks (HDR) isn't new. It was conceived and developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory as early as the 70s. While the concept is quite simple, in practice, it's difficult to control the key element in this type of heat mining: the reservoir. And this is what has been the major challenge to geothermal engineers in Australia as well.

So far the Australian government has chipped in about $370 million to develop the technology for commercial HDR energy conversion.

I guess this is one step towards being free from the grip of the petroleum cartels - not to mention the benefit from the reduction in CO2 emission, which is the major contributor to global warming.

Take Action!

National Forest Protection and Restoration Act (NFPRA) needs your help to reverse the abusive trend set by the timber industry and the US Forest Service. For several decades USFS has spent billions of taxpayer dollars subsidizing the timber industry through building timber roads - all 440,000 miles of them! This led to serious damages to the environment by clearcutting causing destruction of natural beauty, wildlife, and other environmental damages such as soil erosion.

Fortunately,a bill has been introduced by Representatives Jim Leach (R-IA) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) to reverse this trend. Please take a moment to take action and write to your representatives in the congress asking them to support the bill. Clearcutting is the practice of stripping a forest bare by cutting down every single tree. This practice causes severe and irreversible damages to the land and the communities surrounding the clearcut areas. Floods and other mud slides are among the consequences of clearcutting. To the timber industry, clearcutting is perhaps the most profitable approach. Other people who loves clearcutting is land developers. The impacts of clearcutting is far reaching. Many wildlife habitats are upset and so is the ecosystem, given the large-scale clearcutting. There have been growing concerns about the personnel management manuvers at the Department of Interior: many forest ranger positions have been cut or transferred to "desk jobs", leaving the forests unprotected from one of the most dangerous beasts: the timber industry. Illegal logging is on the rise as a result. It looks as if the DOI is "assisting" the timber industry in exploiting natural resources on public lands, according to many environmentalists. And this problem isn't unique to the US alone. Illegal logging in Central America and the Philippines have also attracted international attention.

The time is now to save what is left of the world's natural resources from the voracious greeds of the timber industry and land developers.
